It's been a wonderful weekend. My baby brother got hitched on Saturday to a woman he possibly doesn't deserve! They looked fantastically happy all day, in fact everyone looked happy – and there were hundreds of people there. I don't think I've ever been in a church (and this was an old-fashioned Scottish church, and therefore quite large) which was quite so full, and had such a mixture of people in it. Both bride and groom have large families to start with, and then there were all their friends – and they had come from all over the country. The service was beautiful, the chat afterwards was entertaining, and the meal at night was superb – what more could you ask!
Eldest wore a kilt for the first time – he looked stunning. I did eventually succeed in plaiting his hair – I was given tips by various people, and they worked.
Today we've travelled down south to Leicestershire. Eldest is doing a week's work experience with his godmother at Leicester Uni. We've dropped him down, and we'll stay a day or two, then we'll meander home with littl'un, and have some fun on the way.
