Yesterday we spent in the Borders, in one of my favourite 'middle-of-nowhere' places. We had a group of kids walking the Southern Upland Way from Traquair to Tibbie Shiels – they walked, I got to take photographs. It was a gorgeous morning, but by early afternoon the clouds were sweeping across fast, and there were some fantastic light patterns on the hills.

Littlest spent the day at Glentress with his mates – he managed to come home with two skinned knees, caked blood and large holes in his trouser knees, stinking of fish and chips and deliriously happy. What more can you ask?

Myself and my grumpy old man did a just-published geocache on the way hope, in hopes of getting an ftf, (but we were too slow). We came down the hill in the dark, which always makes me feel braver than I really am!
