On Monday afternoon, Handsome and myself ended up on a back road out of Lanark (looking for a geocache). We walked across the wonderfully named Mousemill Bridge, and as I took photos to distract any wander-bys from what Handsome was doing, I realised that there was a camouflaged second, older bridge there. Apparently the Old Mousemill Brig dates from Roman times, although it was probably wooden then.
Mousemill Brig – bridge over the river Mouse at the mill. The actual mill building is gorgeous as well – it has Gothic arched windows, but I didn't take a photo because there was a bright blue car in front, and it spoilt the effect!
