About sixty kids turned up for the Bronze introductory meeting – I blame the fact that the rain was blowing sideways outside and I was holding the meeting in a warm and cosy room indoors. We only have space for about two mini-bus-worths, so roughly half of them. I sent them all home with letters and told them to talk to their families and think about whether they really wanted to be slogging up a hill on a day like today. In the mud.
I don’t think the girl who asked whether there was electricity when they camped will be back anyway. I didn’t laugh at her… but all the other kids did.
