I have just finished proof-reading Mouse’s creative writing piece. He emailed it to me with a rather desperate plea for me to read through it and count the syllables and check the scansion whilst he rushed off and finished a media essay which is also due. I can understand why he needed someone patient to check it, because his creative writing piece is an epic poem in iambic pentameter… Counting the rhyming couplets over four pages gets a wee bit wearing. I like an easy life myself, I really don’t understand why he had to make it harder for himself!
