afterwards we’ll have to put it all back again

I have a fridge, freezer and dishwasher in my dining room (on plastic sheeting); the washing machine and tumble dryer are in the loo next to the back door; all the washing baskets and shoes and doormats and the boards from the bottom of the kitchen units are piled onto the worktops in the utility room. The ironing board and cookery book bookcase are in the hall and the cat basket is still on the kitchen floor, because he won't cope if I move it so I'll have to do it at the last minute.

Tomorrow, finally,  we're getting the vinyl on the kitchen floor replaced.

Oh, yeah!  I know it is a pain to move everything but I love getting new flooring.  Our bathroom floor, when we remodeled many years ago, was covered in an inexpensive “three year life” vinyl floor.  Of course, it looks bad now.  I use a few throw rugs to hide the worst of the wear.  We learned the hard way and when we added on a utility room, we put the best vinyl floor down that they sold.  Even the sales guy thought we were crazy.  It has been the most wonderful floor ever….worth every penny!

We need our kitchen floor done but it’s a big open plan kitchen/dining room and we managed to shoehorn a dresser into the corner of the dining room bit, that’s the one thing that puts me off doing it, trying to get that out again.  Oh and the lack of money to actually pay for it.  Sigh.
